Permaculture Switzerland

Permaculture is an approach to designing human settlements and agricultural systems that are modeled on the relationships found in natural ecologies. Permaculture is a lifestyle, a planning and design method.

The main principle is to work with nature rather than against it. The goal is a stable, self-regulating and self-sustaining system. To achieve this goal, it tries to weave the activities of humans, animals, plants and the environment in many different ways for mutual support. Permaculture is particularly linked to the areas of landscape design, wildlife, agriculture, horticulture, forestry, architecture, energy, economic, social justice.

Permaculture Switzerland is an association of professionals interested in permaculture and many areas of life. It sees itself as part of the worldwide movement which takes place in 25 countries supported by Permakultur-Institutes. In Switzerland the club was founded 1991. It sees its function as being a platform for people who are interested in permaculture. Hence, it is also a platform to exchange information and more or less a place, where like-minded people meet. The Association also offers a wide range of courses for permaculture.
