The purpose of this Document Freedom Day event is to give voice to the movement for a free information infrastructure, and to highlight the importance of Open Standards and how they impact both business opportunities in the eBook market and universal access to the Public Domain.
Speakers are, amongst others, Dr. Carl-Christian BUHR, Member of the Cabinet of Ms Neelie Kroes, European Commission Vice-President for the Digital Agenda as well as representatives from the French eBook manufacturer Bokeen and the software platform Calibre to talk about their respective experiences in the ebook market and their views on European policies on standards & interoperability.
