Greening the EU Energy Roadmap 2050: A Greens/EFA public conference

Ahead of the publication of the EU Energy Roadmap by the European Commission this autumn, the Greens/ EFA group organises this conference to consider what should be the necessary steps and measures that the European Union should take to achieve its ambitious goals in both the energy and the climate sector.

EVENT: Public conference

DATE: 22 September 2011

PLACE: European Parliament - Room A1G3, 60 rue Wiertz - 1047 Brussels

LANGUAGE: English

The new EU Energy Roadmap by the European Commission will follow the Climate Roadmap 2050 adopted by the Commission on 8 March 2011 and present a number of policy measures for the decarbonisation of the energy sector. The EU has committed to an 80-95% reduction in greenhouse gas emissions below 1990 levels by 2050. In the context if this upcoming paper, the Greens/EFA find it essential to discuss Green energy scenarios, analysing both the EU energy market as a whole, as well as several key national markets.
