Climate neutral Leuven

The Belgian Dutch speaking Green foundation Oikos organises an event focused on the climate change and different solutions to it.

DATE: 19 February, 15:00 - 18:00
PLACE: STUK arts center, auditorium, Naamsestraat 96, Leuven

Global warming is increasingly recognised as one of the most severe problems facing the world today. It is difficult to tackle climate change on a global level, but many things can be done locally. Can a Belgian city such as Leuven become climate neutral by 2030? What is needed to achieve that? These and other questions will be discussed together with the following speakers:

  • Dirk Holemans, coordinator of Oikos
  • Peter Tom Jones, environmental civil engineer and a post-doctoral researcher at the Catholic University of Leuven
  • Mohamed Ridouani, the founder and chairman of the social and cultural association Ahlan Leuven
