GMO Free Europe Conference 2012

On 5 September 2012, the 7th European Conference of GMO free regions will take place. Six years after the first conference in Berlin, the movement is now stronger than ever, with newly joined German Länder like Thuringia and North-Rhine Westphalia, and probably soon Baden Württemberg.

EVENT: Public conference

DATE: 5 September 2012, from 09:00 to 18:30

PLACE: European Parliament, Room JAN 4QN, 60 rue Wiertz, 1047 Brussels

Central topics of the conference will be the right to national bans of GMO cultivation, the deficient risk management of GMOs by EFSA, the upcoming seed legislation, and the imports of GM soy in connection with the next European CAP reform.

The Green group is hosting the official part of the conference at the European Parliament on Wednesday 5th. The day before, NGOs and activists will meet at Mundo-B (Rue d'Edimbourg 26, Brussels). There, the Green group will organise workshops and give space for exchanging experiences, ideas and strategies, and preparing joint activities on GMOs and related issues.
